About Me

My name is Kay Helberg and I am a retired dog groomer. My business: KAY-9 Luvs & Suds (Mobile Dog Grooming & Pampering) was my pride and joy and BEST JOB ON THE PLANET for the last 5 years. But in 2020 my husband (of 20+ years), Karl, and I decided it was time to get onto the next chapter in our lives and pursue our dream of "exploring the US & Canada". My husband is a US Navy Veteran and a retired machinist and worked incredibly hard all of his life. For the last 4yrs he researched what this big move would entail. We explored trailer options that would meet our needs and at the close of 2019 purchased our Oliver Legacy Elite II Travel Trailer. Penny, our 14 year old lab mix (mutt) wholeheartedly approved of this plan and on 4/15/21 we said goodbye to the best neighbors in the world and began our journey! I promised to write a blog so that all of our beloved PEEPS (both family and friends) could follow our adventures.
