"Whatever You Want!..." (i.e., I'm a lucky girl)

Updated: May 8, 2021

4/26/21 Those were my hubby'w words when making breakfast this morning. This on-the-road-thing has pretty much elicited that response each morning, but today they were spoken with such love and flexibility that my heart skipped a beat; insert pic of the beaming bride here! And that was AFTER we arrived yesterday and he hooked me up with the MLB app on his phone so I could listen to WEEI and my BOYS! Sunshine, fresh air and baseball...what more does a girl need? We are in Harrison Lake State Park in Fayette, OH and will be here until Thursday 4/29. Beautiful quiet place...

4/29 Karl went "pedaling" for the first time in 20+ years on Tuesday and yesterday I followed suit (for the first time in I'm thinking 30 years)! This park is the perfect place to get your feet (or, um, wheels) back under you and it was fun!! Our bikes have not been tuned up or anything and Karl's seat is kind of deteriorating, but we don't want to put any money into them until we've determined if we will use them. This was a positive (and promising) first step! We also went for a WONDERFUL family walk around the lake yesterday. This state park is quite exceptional. Penny had lots to smell and it is so relaxing and beautiful. At one point on the walk they had the trees marked with little plaques to help teach you about the differences. I have included a bunch here in my pics in case you're interested. I was especially fascinated by the Ohio Buckeye which - I NEVER KNEW WAS A TREE!!! For the record - we usually take 2 good family walks each day and Karl and Penny go off for her morning business walk as well. Exercising more than I have in a long time - with a bonus of fresh air and (often) sunshine. Tuesday hit 80 degrees and last night we had a thunder storm and downpours. The trailer got a little loud with the rain, but it was fun!

ADDENDUM to this post: I had written these notes on my phone and forgot to include them here:

4/27 OMG - I hear my hubby talking to his phone looking up (and I quote) "American Red Cross in Iowa". Apparently he is not going to let this traveling all around the country get in the way of his (almost religious) donations...

Inaugural use of the trailer awning, having a fire and wearing shorts! (as well as HP's INAUGURAL BIKE RIDE!)

4/28 Farms are waaaay bigger in these parts and MUCH flatter! Rte 20 has been flat and STRAIGHT, with just a little roll to it in spots...
